Assessment

  • Complete annual institutional assessment requirements
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate participant satisfaction surveys for program areas
  • Develop summary of student employee competency trainings in mentoring and adaptability

Emergency Response

Chairs, Mark Garneau & Olivia Raxter

Members: Francis Liaw, Daniel Hill, Calyn Hoerner

  • Create emergency action scenarios and implement scheduled drills for student staff
  • Administer emergency action plan quiz to student staff and provide results to program area supervisors
  • Provide feedback and debrief emergency action situations with student and professional staff
  • Coordinate CPR/AED/First Aid training for all new Campus Recreation employees

Hiring

Chairs, Amanda Alpert and Carey Greenwood

Members: Courtney Bossong, Caroline Mashburn, Caroline Ciell, Paige Delvendahl, Courtney Rorex

  • Conduct fall, spring, and summer hiring sessions
  • Select and train student hiring committee, conduct committee learning assessment
  • Conduct Campus Rec 101 onboarding sessions
  • Complete learning assessment report from applicants following each hiring session
  • Conduct graduate assistant hiring process for 2018-19 academic year

Professional Development and Student Recognition

  • Implement monthly employee recognition system across the department
  • Develop and implement peer nomination process for end of semester awards
  • Plan and implement two professional development workshops each semester for student employees
  • Plan staff training and graduate assistant orientation
  • Implement end of semester recognition banquets
  • Plan and implement one student staff event each semester which promotes TEAM CR values

Campus Recreation Student Leadership Team

Chairs, Jason Shirkey and Taja Hereford

Members: Faith McCarty, Nathan Ferdinand

  • Create nominations and selection for CR student leadership team of 8-12 student employees across all program areas
  • Develop monthly professional development workshops for leadership team
  • Develop selection process for facility managers from leadership team
