Campus Recreation offers a Group Fitness Instructor shadow and preparation program each semester. Interested individuals will need to apply through Campus Recreation during the application submission period. Students will spend the semester shadowing a Group Fitness Instructor, slowly preparing to teach an entire class. There is also a second session each week dedicated to the practice of teaching group fitness and becoming an outstanding instructor.
A Personal Training Prep Course is also offered normally two times per year. Individuals do not need to have previous experience in sports or teaching fitness techniques but will learn how to properly program, instruct, cue, and be a successful personal trainer. This course is offered at no cost, and enrolled individuals may have the potential to work for Campus Recreation in the future. This class will meet for nearly four hours a week, including lectures and practical based sessions.
