Emergency Response

Co-Chairs: Mark Garneau and Coordinator of Aquatics

  • Create emergency action scenarios and implement scheduled drills for student staff (Oct. 1, 2018 and March 1, 2019)
  • Administer emergency action plan quiz to student staff and provide results to program area supervisors (Oct. 1, 2018 and March 1, 2019)
  • Provide feedback and debrief emergency action situations with student and professional staff (monthly review at program area meetings)
  • Maintain First Aid supplies and check AEDs (weekly)
  • Coordinate CPR/AED/First Aid training for all new Campus Recreation employees (Sept. 2018, Feb. 2019, April 2019)

  • Conduct Campus Rec 101 onboarding sessions (Sep. 2018, Feb. 2019, April 2019)
  • Complete learning assessment report from applicants following each hiring session (Sep. 2018, Feb. 2019, April 2019)
  • Conduct graduate assistant hiring process for 2019-20 academic year (Dec. 2018/Jan. 2019)

Professional Development and Student Recognition

  • Implement monthly employee recognition system across the department (monthly 2018-2019)
  • Develop and implement peer nomination process for end of semester awards (Nov. 2018 and April 2019)
  • Plan and implement IMPROVE U professional development series for juniors and seniors. (monthly 2018-19)
  • Plan staff training and graduate assistant orientation (Aug. 2018)
  • Implement end of semester recognition banquets (Dec. 2018 and April 2019)
  • Plan and implement one student staff event each semester which promotes TEAM CR values (Dec. 16, 2018 and May 5, 2019)
  • Provide recommendations for professional development funding applications (August 20, 2018, Jan. 28, 2019, and May 13, 2019).
