Outdoor Adventure Trips & Events

Join Ole Miss Outdoors (OMOD) for one of our exciting adventure trips, educational clinics, skill-based certifications, or campus & community events. Many of our trips and events are designed for people of all abilities and skill levels. Participants must be enrolled as a University of Mississippi student, or be 18 years of age or older to participate in the trip program. If you have questions, please call the office at 662-915-6735. Current Policies & Procedures: 

  • Effective immediately, the university will require face coverings in indoor public spaces on campus, regardless of vaccination status. Face coverings are not required outdoors. In Campus Recreation facilities, patrons may remove face coverings at their exercise station(s) or climbing wall.
  • All individuals must wear masks during shared transportation per CDC guidance (vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals).

Wilderness First Aid (Hybrid) Certification

SOLO’s Hybrid Wilderness First Aid course covers the same content as the traditional Wilderness First Aid. The difference between the programs is that the hybrid course consists of 8 hours of pre-course online learning and only one, in-person practical day. The Hybrid WFA is 16 hours long (8 hours online and 8 hours in person) and focuses on the basic skills of: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies. CPR is also included in the cost, but is optional, and will be held the evening of December 17.
