The Rebel Challenge Course is an Association for Challenge Course Technology-accredited high and low ropes course located on the Oxford campus of the University of Mississippi. The course is located on Insight Park Avenue just up the hill from the Blackburn-McMurray Outdoor Sports Complex (intramural fields). Click here for a map. The course was constructed in 2008 through grants and funds from the Ole Miss Parents Association Leadership Council, the Office of Greek Affairs, and the Department of Campus Recreation. The Rebel Challenge Course is strictly operated and supervised by trained facilitators within the Ole Miss Outdoors program. The mission of the Rebel Challenge Course is to provide student groups and university departments at the University of Mississippi with opportunities to accomplish new and exciting adventures together! Whether your goal is to improve communication, build problem-solving skills, enhance teamwork, and/or have a fun experience, the Ole Miss Outdoors staff is ready to tailor an experience to meet the needs of your group. The Rebel Challenge Course is designed to create environments and scenarios that are symbolic of real-life challenges that groups face on a daily basis. These elements are challenging but possible to complete using group collaboration and individual contribution. Participants are encouraged to participate in all challenge course activities, but participants may choose not to participate in any event or element at any time according to their comfort level. On certain Fridays throughout the fall and spring semesters, several Rebel Challenge Course high elements are open to university students, faculty, staff, and the community. Please note, Free Fridays are cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
