Session 3 – Calisthenics
April 2 – April 25 | Tuesdays/Thursdays | 5-6 pm
Blackburn-McMurray Outdoor Sports Complex | The Fit Rig
Registration Fee $50 for students & $75 for CR Members | Register here
Description: Calisthenics is a form of strength training that uses the resistance of your body and gravity to help strengthen your muscles and improve your coordination, endurance and mobility. Calisthenics exercises range from simple movements like squats and push ups not requiring equipment, to more advanced movements requiring fitness bars, such as pull-ups and muscle-ups. The session may even progress to learning more complex exercises similar to those done in a gymnastics setting. In this four week session, we will teach you all of the basic calisthenics exercises to strengthen your lower body, upper body and core. Modifications will be provided for any fitness level. Indoor inclement weather locations will be provided if necessary. Registration closes on Wednesday, March 27th.

Personal Training

The Ole Miss Fitness Personal Training Program is designed to aid the client in the pursuit of his or her individual fitness goals. Our certified personal trainers provide you with a fun, yet challenging exercise program and motivational support. We work with a wide range of clients with varying fitness goals, but no matter the objective, we have a trainer who wants to work with you. Our personal trainers will challenge you to step outside your comfort zone and enhance your life through movement while providing motivation every step of the way.

Our trainers are all certified through nationally accredited organizations such as the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), or the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). We continually develop our trainers through fitness trend education, equipment specific training, and experiential learning.

All patrons must have active swipe access through a Campus Recreation Membership in order to purchase training sessions. Patrons must be 16 years of age to use fitness spaces, therefore, individuals must be at least 16 years old to qualify for personal training services. Individuals participating in personal training services ages 16 or 17 must be supervised by a parent/adult during training sessions.

Ready to start your personal training experience with Campus Recreation? Please click here to complete the first step of submitting your personal training registration form. Once you complete the form, please allow 24 to 48 business hours for form review. A member of our fitness leadership team will follow up with an email to confirm your form was received, all information has been reviewed and give you a timeline for hearing from your personal trainer. You will not pay for sessions until you are matched with a trainer. If you are planning to purchase a partner session, both partners must submit their personal training registration form prior to being matched with a trainer.

*We currently have a waitlist to be paired with a trainer. To work with a certified personal trainer or group fitness instructor while waiting to be paired with your own personal trainer, we encourage you to check out our Small Group Training offerings or our Group Fitness Program to see if these programs may match your fitness goals and preferred availability.

Please email fitness@go.olemiss.edu with any specific questions about our Personal Training program.
