The Ocoee River is one of the most popular rivers in the world, seeing hundreds of thousands of kayakers and rafters every year. This popularity is well-deserved, as it has about 10 miles of excellent class III-IV whitewater, as well as a positive relationship with TVA that keeps the agua flowing for weekend warriors all summer long. The Ocoee River has welcomed thrill-seekers for many decades, and has become the most popular whitewater rafting adventure in America with over twenty continuous rapids and many play spots for miles of endless fun and adventure. Located in the Cherokee National Forest, the Ocoee River flows through a beautiful gorge surrounded by scenic wildlife. This trip will be guided by a professional outfitter, and is open to all experience levels, though it is recommended that participants have basic swimming skills. We will depart Oxford Friday afternoon in university vehicles and travel to the campground near the rafting outfitter; we will spend Friday evening tent camping and then wake up Saturday and go rafting! We will explore the area Saturday afternoon, camp Saturday evening, and return to Oxford Sunday morning.
